WHITE MESSENGER --- The deer of Nara.
The deer living in and
around Nara Park are designated as a national protected species.
It is believed that Takemikazuchi, a deity of thunder, arrived riding on a white deer when Kasuga
Grand Shrine was founded more than 1300 years ago.
Because of that, deer are considered servants to the deity, and they have been cordially protected
since ancient times.
At times the antlers of the divine deer of Kasuga, Nara look brave, but can look beautiful and warm in other contexts. We deliver the gentleness and warmth of the White Messenger with awe and thankfulness toward all the deities of heaven
and earth.
